Melissa Laurencelle
Stained glass artist & designer.
My name is Melissa Laurencelle and I currently live in the state of Pennsylvania, I’ve moved around a bit. I was born and raised in Connecticut. Then I moved to Maine where I lived for good handful of years, it was there I studied graphic design and enjoyed some of the best seafood Portland has to offer. And now I’m here!
You studied graphic design??? But this site is for glass art! Yes I’m an artist of many facets! I majored in graphic design but over the years I’ve dipped my toes in a little bit of everything. I first learned the copper foil method of stained glass when I was in high school. I stopped working with glass for a few years due to not having the space for a studio and just plain being swamped with college work. It’s absence in my life is what made me realize that glass was my favorite medium. And now that I have the space again I’m back at it!
The Boys

We’ll see I have two cats Ash and Kiwi. I’ve always referred to my cat Ash, whom I had first, as a noodle. Why? Because cats are just silly little noodles. When Kiwi came along I would refer to the two of them as fruity noodles and ended up making them their own instagram, fruitynoodleboys. (I really just take too many photos of them). My two cats have always brought so much joy into my life and they mean the world to me so it was natural I’d end up using this for my studio name.
